Thursday Thoughts...

Books are the bees which carry the quickening pollen from one to another mind.

 James Russell Lowell

What a lovely image this conjures up - as bees move between the blossoms, touching lightly here, gathering pollen, moving over here, depositing and sharing…

Books do a similar dance I think - the writer writing things down, the reader picking the book up and gathering from it what is most important or that which matters most to them; sharing thoughts from the book or even the book itself with others.

Cross-pollination of thought, ideas and minds…

Beautiful!

Close up of a poppy at our place - a happy hunting ground for bees!  This gorgeous orange comes to you courtesy of Jennifer and Julie's ongoing quest to find Roy G. Biv aka the rainbow! Head on over to their blogs to see other orangeness or simply join in and let them know you're playing...

    1. It's amazing to get that close to the flower isn't it - it feels like you are inside it and surrounded by it...

  2. I love the quote & the image you chose to complement it...it seems to capture that special dance that you spoke of. The Reader's importance to a book makes me think of the fourth dimension in architecture - Time. It seems that the experience factor adds such a magical layer to the whole equation. And I love how the experiences are so unique, both of books & buildings - how we each take (& give) different things from (to) them.

    1. Thanks Lisa! What a lovely additional thought for the quote - fourth dimensions and buildings; so many things are connected in different ways…we do take and give different things to and form them indeed. Go well.
