Hi J, as mentioned I didn't want to muck it up, so left it quietly to dry, but am now keen to get back and make another one. Like drizzles of dark chocolate...mmm more yum!
All that shine... what type of ink did you use Fiona? It looks like glossy indian ink and I am drawn into those swirls and curves which no doubt look completely different now they are dry. Would love to see the comparison.
It's actually a bottle of Japanese sumi ink, and I used a syringe - hence the depth I think. I haven't been back to the studio since I did it, so shall take some after shots as well when I get there!
Monotypes too before the ink dried?
ReplyDeleteHi Olga, not this time. I wanted to use the final piece for a final piece so didn't actually want to smudge it, but I think I might next time!
DeleteLooks a bit like strange patterns at the water's edge, just as the waves are rolling in and out.
ReplyDeleteHi Valerianna - if the black bits were white bits they would seem just like foam patterns wouldn't they?
DeleteOlga beat me to it! 2 thoughts kept running through my mind - looks like dark chocolate and oh! I hope she got monoprints. Did you?

DeleteLovely! And your photos are brilliant!
ReplyDeleteThanks Connie - the camera did like them didn't it?
DeleteLove all that trailing. Pity it flattens when it dries.
ReplyDeleteHi Jo - it certainly look different when it dries, so I was pleased to capture that glistening raised wetness!
Deletemmmm yum, indeed!!!! :-)
ReplyDeleteIndeed! It was quite mesmerising to do...
DeleteMmmmm indeed .... I love all those apparently random shapes. How did you get that effect?
ReplyDeleteLots and lots of swirling and circles Charlton! Lots of overlapping...
DeleteNoice! I can smell that lovely wet ink from here :)
ReplyDeleteIt's lovely stuff to play with - I got totally into it! And you're right - it smells delicious too.
DeleteLooks like fun Fiona!
ReplyDeleteQuite mesmerisingly fun in that gone far away kind of way...
DeleteDelicious. Love how the camera can capture those moments before they disappear. x
ReplyDeleteMe too Susan - once it has dried it is such a different piece!
Deleteoh, well done, fiona!
ReplyDeleteThanks Velma - it was fun and free-ing.
