Showtime!

In a funny way this exhibition/show has crept up on us.  We had arranged very casually, as you do here in Maleny, to take up some exhibition space at the UpFront Club during June. The Club (as it is known locally) is a cooperative cafe which is a huge supporter of music in the town and also artists. Each month they hang local artists work on their walls and several nights a week have live music.

Barry had thought that his shrines would work well on the walls - and that the local clientele might enjoy them.  Somehow I got talked into; or talked myself into; being a part of it as well - hanging some of the works from earlier in the year.

So tomorrow (Tuesday) we hang and at 6.00pm on Thursday night we have a fun opening dinner and drinks to which you are ALL invited!

I still think it would be great if we could tele-port ourselves across the world to each other's events; and then just pop home.

  2. I've been working on being in 2 places at one time for some time now. Unfortunately, I haven't mastered it yet. Hope it goes well!

  3. Fiona,There's many a time when I wish I could simply say 'Beam me up Scotty' and go where ever I like at a moment's notice but alas that technology seems a long way off! I think you must live in a wonderfully creative community. There always seems to be something you're involved in. It's probably really hard work to keep your work out there but you make it sound effortless. Good luck for the show.

  5. Hey Ronnie - if you find it first, let me know!

Annie - so true it just doesn't seem to work yet does it? But wouldn't it be fabulous!

Lesley - yes we are lucky - our town is small (about 4000 people) but has lots of energy and lots of folk who get involved and want to do things. This one fell in our lap a bit and there's not much new work for it; so the easier type of exhibition (I prefer a showing) of work. And yes, I think there's a demand for that teleporter!

Jane - it would be so cool to have you 'pop' over - we must work out how to do it hey!?! Thanks for your wishes.

  6. Count me in with those who'd like to pop over to see the show. Maybe we could try a group Skype? Congratulations on the exhibition and enjoy the opening.

  8. Oh wouldn't that be grand! I would love to attend your fun opening night, to visit with you, and then just blink myself home. No travel hassles, no waiting in lines, no security rituals. Oh, that would be GRAND!

  9. Strangely enough I mentioned teleporting to my son only yesterday, it does make it difficult when my children and grandchildren are in WA and me down here in Tas. And I would so love to pop up there, is it warm yet?

  10. Hi Jennifer - it woudl lovely wouldn't it to meet folk face to face who we only know thru our screens and keyboards?

    Thanks Anna - hopefully we'll get some good photos - it's a bit of a mad-house!

Jo - oh yes, grand indeed. Not only would we get to see people; we'd see their work close-up! Sigh.

Thanks Trace - how funny that we synched on teleorters - esp hard for mums and grandmums away from the flock. Warm...hmmm not to our way of being but warmer than Tas perhaps. Big blue sky and sunshine today - but with a wind.
