I have been enjoying Ronnie's "looking up" series of photographs - taken each day and allowing her time to ponder, reflect, ruminate or meditate. I haven't done the daily ritual involved but have spent a lot of time looking out and up over the past wee while.
The skies are just so amazing at the moment - here are a few scenes from the mountain in the past week.

Somebody once told us they liked driving along our road each morning on the way to work - "a different postcard every day" and that feels about right. The view, the valley, the air, the sky. They fill me up.

DeleteWhat a spectacular skies and what a place to live! All the photos are wonderful but that wind-blown tree is just fabulous - so simple but yet full of the motion of the storm - lovely!
ReplyDeleteIt's a special place Charlton/Margaret and we feel fortunate to be living here - it offers us so much beauty so often. The tree was great wasn't it? Caught the sense of wind very well!

DeleteFiona, these photos are absolutely wonderful. Each was my favourite until I saw the next. The sliver of moon is outstanding, the tree, the clouds, the sea of mist all breathtaking. What a beautiful view you and B have!
ReplyDeleteThanks Carol - each day has been a bit like that - I think I've seen something stunning one day, and the next there's another beautiful snippet to glimpse and try and record. For whatever reason, summer tempestuousness has created stunning vistas, each one different and equally arresting.
DeleteSusan is right, you do live in paradise... although I thought it might be Narnia..... I like the idea of looking up. Will try that later although doubt I will see anything as beautiful as these photos today in a grey and dull English winter. Still, there is something of beauty in every place we live so I'll look for it later and keep my fingers crossed!

I tend to look around and across and down more than up - the views across the valley are wonderful. You are so right, there is certainly beauty in each and every place in big and small ways I think. ReplyDeleteThey are like a bunch of postcards in a away aren't they!?! Gorgeous idea. We deliberately built the office on the opposite side of the house so that when work-working we don't get distracted; but when we are enjoying life the view is there through every window and doorway...go well.
