Thursday Thoughts...

“Wherever I am if I’ve got a book with me, I have a place I can go and be happy”

 J.K. Rowling

I couldn't agree more heartily with Ms Rowling! I'm not quite sure what it is about having a book with me - but I find them so companionable, so friendly, so welcoming, so safe.  I definitely always feel that no matter where I am or what I am doing if I have a book within reach then all shall be well.

Would you agree?

I think it may explain my minor addiction to book bags of all shapes and sizes.  I recently cut up this skirt I made a few years ago, to make yet another bag in which I can easily carry a book or two...

Embellished with a beautiful, hand-stitched "imagine peace" pin made by Liz A - sharing peace around the world...

  1. I've always been a one-bag-for-years-at-a-time person, but these boro-aesthetic bags could be a game-changer. And thanks for the shout out, another echo of peace.

    1. Peace echoes are great Liz - and I love the pins dearly. I don't know what it is about book bags; I rarely buy much of anything else except paper and art supplies; but bags for books - I'm a goner!

  2. Ahhhh, I have gone through many a book bag. At present, my favorite bag is one that I've had for over 7 yrs brought back from England by my daughter and son in law. It is a large jute bag from their visit to Kew Gardens and has a black and white print of ferns on the outside. This bag can easily hold up to 15 hard bound books so you can imagine its size. Mind you, I don't carry it with me on a daily basis! but I do use a travelers day pack for my purse and it always has one or two books inside for those times when waiting in lines or simply sitting outdoors is made so much better by delving into a book that transports you into a timeless place...

    1. So true so true Marti! That bag sounds like a real keeper - the mere thought of 15 hardbacks impresses me mightily! I rotate mine around depending on my mood and outfit - how hilarious. Go well.

  3. F - that turned out to be one really interesting-funky book bag. Mind you the book bag hook is getting a little crowded? B

    1. Thanks B - it's a great bag! Perhaps the real issue is I need another book bag hook???? :- )

  4. I don't have book bags as such but any bag I get has to have room in it for at least one book (and a sketchbook and notebook). If I have these it doesn't matter where or how long I end up waiting
