We have had some magical big blue sky days of late as the temperatures drop. The leaves are turning, and falling, and the block is looking beautiful in its beginnings of bareness.
Some of our peace doves and weathergrams are going strong still in the tree; and the leaves form a beautiful backdrop.
The bluest of skies - our place from our neighbours across the road. Peace tree at the top of the driveway.
And the studio shed from across the road.
The leaves that have fallen are adding much loveliness as well. This gathering amongst the sculptures was a delightful early morning find.
My favourite for the week was the leaves making an installation at the front door - my dad thought we had stuck them in; but that is just how they landed when the wind blew them along...
I followed the shadows through the day.
And a shy little visitor as well!
'Tis good to be on the mountain again.
and an APOLOGY to all my commenters in the past week or so. I used to receive an email from Blogger to let me know you had dropped me a line. Apparently no more. So that means I have to go into my blog's background to check and I didn't even know that until I read it on Liz's blog. So... apologies for my silence (I thought no one was commenting) and I hope I have now caught up.
Technology - wonderful whilst it works for you....

F - I really have to smile about the leaf installation in the front deck - the creativity of night winds. B
ReplyDeleteI know! It absolutely delights me to pieces!!!!
ReplyDeleteYes, technology....I (and many other bloggers) have had the same problem, Fiona. Has to do with the new privacy regulations. Heard that Blogger is trying to fix the problem. Annick
ReplyDeleteThanks Annick - I hope they do fix it soon!
DeleteTaking in joy in small things ... such whimsical leaves (and shadows)
ReplyDeleteSo true Liz - I love those leaves!!!
DeleteLovely to see autumn.. Since we are headed into summer and will be dodging hurricanes soon, chilly weather sounds divine..
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness Cat - hurricane season is so very real for you guys - I hope it is a quiet one. I love the stillness of Autumn and the crispness!
Deletelove your documentation of Mother Nature's leaf installation!
ReplyDeleteMo it absolutely delighted and absorbed me - Nobody was allowed to sweep the deck. I still check them each day and they continue to bring me such joy...I smile every time I go in and out and that has to be a good thing!
DeleteYour standing leaves are like static tongues of flame. Thank you for sharing them with us.
ReplyDeleteOh Dana - that is a beautiful word picture for them. Thank you!
DeleteI am envious of your leaf installation! After years of having so much autumn colour and leaf litter at Clovelly - now it is gum leaf and gum nut litter. Beautiful in their own right I know. I do love autumn and though I don’t have it on my doorstep I never to cease welcoming that autumnal fall of colour. Winter rainbow.
ReplyDeleteI know - how lucky were we?!?! Most years they disappear really quickly, yet this year they have taken their time. And then a breeze from the right direction meant they landed where they did. A winter rainbow indeed!
