I am enjoying watching the weather-gram peace flags fly and fall, and gradually be hidden in part by the budding of leaves.
Today I thought I would photograph them with the Hipstamatic app on my phone and really enjoyed the results. They are so vivid.
whatta nice hipsta combo (gotta love hipsta... indeedy I'm making a whole body of work devoted to the dear little app...)
ReplyDeleteHi Ronnie - I was a happy little hipsta with these I must say - they worked out good!
DeleteLovely photos and Happy Spring to you!
ReplyDeleteThanks Jane - and a happy Autumn/Fall to you in reverse!
DeleteYes, the vibrancy is great!!
ReplyDeleteHi Valerianna - there is real intensity in the colours isn't there?
DeleteAs your leaves are budding, ours are turning colors and falling. Will you continue to hang peace flags in the trees?
ReplyDeleteHi J - the reverse seasons is fascinating isn't it? Even tho we know for sure the season are alternating on the other side of the world, this blog sharing business brings it into sharp relief! I have re-hung some flags that fell the first storm we had; but since then have been letting them just head off as they need; not controlling, not replacing. I will be interested to see what remains; and when the last leaf falls. Go well.
DeleteA completely different look on your flags, a new life in them, these photos are wonderful!
ReplyDeleteThanks Ersi - the gradual appearance of spring is adding a whole new dimension to the tree; I think the leaves may shelter the flags from the wind a bit more. It is a lovely journey to document.
DeleteTrees are such a perfect choice of 'structure' for your peace flags, especially as they are entering their own season of rebirth/growth. And what a vibrant & happy way to record the transformation!
ReplyDeleteThanks Lisa - maybe we get Florentine flags next year? :) I enjoy the tree and watching the flags changing - gently transforming - and yes the hipstamatic adds a certain something to the photos of them!
DeleteI have no idea what this 'app' is Fiona. My phone is so ancient it just about makes calls so forget using it for photography too. Love the saturated greens though. They look so fresh and tropical.
ReplyDeleteHi Leslie - I think this app is supposed to re-create those 70s shots we all have from instamatic cameras...I like the fuzzy edges! The colours do intensify and the emerging leaves are vivid and bright. They make me smile.
DeleteLovely photos, Fiona. Nice to see the Glasshouse mts in the background too.
ReplyDeleteThanks Amanda - the mountains say home to me now - an ever restful backdrop to my days...
DeleteF-the use of the hipsta draws the eye to the messages on the weather grams - love it. B
ReplyDeleteThanks B - it adds something somehow doesn't it??
Deletereally good, fiona.
ReplyDeleteThanks V!
