Thursday Thoughts

The true harvest of my life is intangible - a little star dust caught, a portion of the rainbow I have clutched.
Henry David Thoreau

What a beautiful way of thinking about a life - that sense of the real truth in it, the real magic, meaning and splendour of it is intangible. Out of reach, hidden around the corner, invisible to the eye. Not written down, not photographed, not chiselled into stone. The truth of our lives; intangible.

It seems to me that often the things that matter most are the things we can't pin down or point to. Those crazy hilarious moments of laughter between friends; the look across the room to acknowledge a moment with the one you love; the perfume of a rose; a sense of peace and calm after meditating; the a-ha moment when you know created something special.  These are things that are precious.

Our lives are filled with precious moments and experiences, and I am grateful for them.
