As we leave Scotland and return to Australia, one common feature seems to be flowers.
We arrived back into Maleny just after midnight this morning, managed about 6 hours sleep, and then began the day slowly and gently. As we were getting breakfast, I popped outside to cut some sage flowers I had noticed as we returned in the dark. Flowers make a place feel like home.
So here is a run down of the flowers of today, and of Scotland... once more in a random manner.
We stopped in at Perth on the way south to Glasgow. Beautiful parks and the fading of flowers.
The trip's first bunch of flowers from the cottage's garden - Crocosia Montbrecia. We have begun to plant out an entire slope with these magnificent and bold plants. It looks stunning.
Some stunning cornflowers. Basking in sunlight.
A photo as much of the bee as of the flower...
This lovely collection of lavenders with some of Dad's crucifix orchids.
Is now placed to reflect and connect to this painting by Minnie Pwerle. The brightness and boldness of them both.
I think there is a new game to play here - matching bouquets of flowers to artworks!
glad you made it home safe and sound, but hmmmm ... every other image is "broken" on my laptop, although most are showing up just fine on my iPhone ... perhaps Blogger has "caught a bug" from Typepad, which has been behaving badly of late ... nothing to do but wait it out, but thought you'd want to know ...
ReplyDeletemeantime, I very much like your idea of matching flowers to artworks ... I'll be interested to see where you go with that (and looking forward to meeting artists along the way)
Glad they all landed! Technology can be so very unexpected at times. I am yet to discover any further art and flower matches, but am definitely looking with fresh eyes...
